Gripp
Life happens. Here's the bill.
One Android app that shows where your time and money go: your screen time, every payment your bank or e-wallet announces, and the receipts you scan. All of it is read on your phone, and none of it leaves.

What it does
Four tabs. One bill.
Your lifestyle has a cost, in minutes and in money. Most apps show one or the other. Gripp joins them up. Every screen on this page is the real app, filled with a made-up week.
Money in and out, caught as it happens
When your bank or e-wallet sends a payment alert, Gripp reads it and files it. No bank login, no linking accounts, nothing to type.
- A petrol pump's RM 200 hold is set aside once the real charge arrives
- Refunds are paired with the payment they undo
- Any currency, kept apart and never converted

Every receipt becomes a price book
Photograph a receipt and the phone reads it on the spot, line by line. Over the months it learns what you usually pay, and where.
- A price rise at your usual shop is marked the day it happens
- Each receipt matched to its payment and its e-invoice
- Twelve months of spending at a glance

Where the day went
A ring of the whole day, midnight to midnight, with each app placed at the hour you opened it.
- Today, 7 Days and 30 Days, against yesterday at the same time
- Your longest stretch without locking the phone
- Plain sentences about habits: the hour you keep coming back, the last app before sleep

Ask in your own words
"How much did I spend this week?" The phone works out the answer from what is on the phone: what your receipts explain, and what was paid with no receipt.
- Type it, or say it
- Shops, products, apps and bills
- Opens again on your last answer

This month, last month, and the twelve before
Spending month by month and day by day. An empty month is drawn empty, not skipped.
And under Scan Others: name cards that become contacts, bills that file themselves, and Records for the papers of a life that are not spending, such as medical letters and lab reports.

The logic
From a bank alert to a clean record
Banks and e-wallets announce payments in a dozen formats. Here is what Gripp does with two made-up alerts, two minutes apart, at a petrol pump.
- Read the moneyAmount, currency and direction, in whatever words and order the bank uses. A marketing message that mentions money is not a payment.
- Name the payeePETRO JAYA KL both times, written the way people recognise it.
- Spot the holdA round amount, then a smaller one with sen, at the same place within minutes: the first was a hold. RM 200.00HOLD is set aside; RM 86.40 counts.
- Pair and matchMoney that comes back is paired with the payment it undoes, and each payment is matched with its receipt and e-invoice.
- Never count twiceOne payment announced by two apps is kept once. Totals stay per currency.

Privacy
Read on the phone. Kept on the phone.
Money and habits are the most private things a phone knows, so Gripp was designed to need nothing from anyone.
No account, no server
No sign-up and no cloud copy. Receipts are read by on-device text recognition, and alerts are read on the phone.
No tracking, no ads
No analytics, no advertising and no network calls of its own. It works with the phone in flight mode.
AI only if you choose it
AI help is off unless you switch it on. Even then only text is sent, never a photo, and the screen says so at that moment.
Never your SMS
Gripp listens to notifications only. It never asks to read your text messages.
Any currency, untouched
Gripp cannot know an exchange rate without going online, so it never invents one. Each currency keeps its own total.
Your own backup
A backup file you keep yourself, and a spreadsheet export whose columns never move, so last year's file still lines up.
Any language, anywhere
It opens in your phone's language
No country is hard-coded. A bank alert in Warsaw or Chennai has to work on the day someone installs it, and the app follows whatever language the phone is set to.

How it's made
